3. General Information on Data Processing

Scope of Processing

We process personal data of our users only to the extent necessary to provide a functional website and our content and services. The processing of personal data takes place only with the user’s consent, unless prior consent is not possible and processing is permitted by law.

Legal Basis for the Processing of Personal Data

Whenever we obtain consent from the data subject for the processing of personal data, Article 6(1)(a) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) serves as the legal basis. If the processing of personal data is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR applies. This also applies to processing operations required for carrying out pre-contractual measures. Where processing of personal data is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which our company is subject, Article 6(1)(c) GDPR serves as the legal basis. In the event that vital interests of the data subject or another natural person require the processing of personal data, Article 6(1)(d) GDPR provides the legal basis. If processing is necessary for the purposes of a legitimate interest pursued by our company or a third party, and such interests are not overridden by the interests, fundamental rights, and freedoms of the data subject, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR is the applicable legal basis.

Personal data is deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose for storage ceases to apply. Data may be stored beyond that time if required by European or national legislation. Data will also be deleted when a legal retention period expires, unless continued storage is necessary.
